Maharashtra and Jharkhand Election 2024 Live Updates: After casting his vote in Thane, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed confidence in winning a landslide victory in the upcoming Assembly elections. “People have seen their (Maha Vikas Aghadi’s) two-and-a-half years of rule vis-à-vis the work done by us in the same amount of time. People will vote for development and for the work done by us,” Shinde said.

According to the source, voting is underway in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand. While all 288 seats in Maharashtra are voting today in a single phase, voting continues on 38 seats in Jharkhand, where polls were held in two stages. Mahayuti is putting in its best effort to retain power in Maharashtra, while in Jharkhand it is fighting to seize power from the JMM-Congress coalition.

However, during the voting in Nandgaon for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, a fight broke out between supporters of Suhas Kande, representing the Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and independent candidate Samir Bhujbal.

This clash between Shiv Sena and independent candidates has heightened the atmosphere, showing the fierce competition between the Mahayuti coalition and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

High-Stakes Election

The election is crucial for key players like BJP's Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena's (UBT) Uddhav Thackeray, and Shiv Sena's (SHS) Eknath Shinde, who have all served as chief ministers in the last five years. The outcome will also impact the political legacies of Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar.

As soon as the Maharashtra Assembly elections end at 6 PM on November 20, 2024, the results will be announced on November 23. Later, only the ECI results will give the final verdict on which party or alliance has secured the most seats.
